intuMetroCentre Pre-View Blogger Event

The MetroCentre is profoundly known for their season fashion shows but the start to this years was a little bit different. This year they welcomed bloggers from across the North-East to join them to pre-view what the top high-street stores have to offer this season.

Welcomed with drinks and mini vanilla and chocolate cupcakes that no-one could resisit (especially me, when I see food it's like I have daggers for eyes) was just the beginning to an incredible evening. The fashion show was hosted by radio presenter - Anna Foster who praised bloggers for their contribution to fashion and beauty highlighting that they are the future.

Before we knew it the models were out strutting their stuff to songs like 'Love Runs Out'  by One Republic, I couldn't help but dance along. The theme of the runway was 'Let Your True Colours Shine' and so the catwalk was bursting with colour.

The bloggers and I were shown the collections from seven different retailers including Topshop, RiverIsland, Warehouse, Superdry, Tessuti, French Connection and House of Fraser. My personal favourite was French Connection, I just loved the pop of colour and I think turquoise is a classic colour that is so vibrant.

Strong colourful patterns are going to be in this summer if you're brave enough along with kharki if you aren't so brave. The models had their hair transformed from the average pony as the hairstylist added a classic twist.

It was such a fun evening especially chatting to all the stylists and other bloggers that were there too. The fashion shows are running until Sunday so I'd strongly recommend you go and see these looks for yourself!

Beauty Photo Shoot

Hiya everyone,

Today was the day I made my debut as a photographer shooting the beauty pages for BloggersUNITE. I had so much fun doing it and felt so relaxed and I think that's mainly because I had a great team behind me. Well team of two - My model, Christina Newton and my make-up artist Holly Robinson.

It was great seeing Holly make the ideas to come life after I spoke to Make-Up artist Josephine Birkett to see what looks would be in this Spring and I can't wait to design the pages the pictures will feature on. The title will be 'Release your inner succubus' for anyone who is unfamiliar with the term and isn't a fan of 'Lost Girl' like me it's a term used to describe a woman (demon) who seduces men.

Unfortunately, the demon then kills them (please don't suduce your man then kill him that's not what I'm trying to say however annoying he may be). For me this article is speaking out to women and asking them to explore and be more adventurous with their make-up and release a side of their nature that has always been there. They are just too shy to let it out.

That's enough from me today but for now, just for you guys, here is a sneak peak at some of the shots from today's shoot and some behind the scenes ones as well!

I'm back

There comes a time in every bloggers life when they have to flee the nest for a bit, in my case it was longer than I thought. University has played a heavy part in my disappearance as I'm putting all my energy into achieving the best grade possible and making BloggersUNITE - My dissertation magazine the best it can be.

I decided to embrace both and give you an insight into what I've been doing. So be prepared to expect posts about photoshoots, blogger events an more. Ta Ta for now.

My outfit of the week

Nothing makes me, and I'm sure every other girl out there, more happy than finding an outfit for a bargain, and this outfit find was definitely that.

My favourite part about these shorts is the detail. I love the pleats that go through the middle to give the illusion of a skirt and the white squares that give it a more sophisticated look. Where did I get them from you ask? Primark!

All of you who have read my blog already will know that this is my university bag. It's from River Island  and has a snake print like texture to it. It's great for fitting all my books and supplies in and has a really nice grey finish.

Boots are my go-to shoes during the autumn and winter. These beauties were from H and M and came with an even better price tag.

The final item of the outfit is a white blouse which is also from Primark. I think this will be great for the winter as it quarter length sleeves and will go great with anything. I'm think of teaming it up with some black ripped jeans next! The white zip also give the blouse cute, light detail.

So, how much did these items cost me? The blouse and shorts were both £10 each, how amazing is that?

The bag was a little steeper at around £40 but I do use it almost everyday so that's money well spent if you ask me.

The boots I got were from last year so I think they were about £30 but have lasted me a year so were definitely worth it.

I couldn't be happier with the items I found at Primark, they have great stuff in at the moment and have a really cheap price tag.

So what's your outfit of the week?

Until Sunday,

#What's in my bag

Happy Monday everyone. Actually no, if you're in the UK it's most definitely not a happy Monday, the weather here hasn't been the best today. I should know I turned up to university looking as if I had just came out of the shower.

Anyway, I know what's in my bag is a generic post that every blogger has but I love reading them and I thought you would too.

So here's my what's in my bag - university edition.

Both my bag and purse are from River Island. The bag is grey with silver zips and has a nice snake like print that adds simple yet effective detail. My purse is the same colour grey, but has silver zips and the River Island logo for detail.

Now here's the juicy parts.

Make-up

I'm not one for carrying make-up around with me while I'm at university. But I guess I don't want to look totally dead while I'm there so I like to carry my MAC - Everyday Diva Lipstick with me to give myself a little face boost.

Essential Uni things

Now, what university wouldn't be complete without pens? Errr none so I have two pens, you know just in case one runs out.

Other minor things I have in my bag are, a notebook, my shorthand resource books, and since I'm taking a Science Fiction module I was a good student and went to the library.

Other Essentials

I also have my keys, essential for getting in and out the house, a bus pass, headphones, a ring and a memory sick.

Also that little extra bag in first picture is something I picked up that was free from the library.

Who knew the library gave you free stuff? I should go more often!

So now I'm curious, what's in your university bag?

Until Wednesday,

#SeptemberFavourites

I can't believe it's already the first of October! Can you tell me where the months have gone because I have no idea? Anyway, the fact that it's the first of October can only mean one thing, it's time to reveal my September favourites.

So without any fuss, here they are.

September has been all about the white nail polish for me and secretly it may be due to my second September favourite.

However, I just love how it looks on long nails, plus Barry M doesn't chip as much as other nail polishes which is a saviour because let's be face it no-one has time to keep reapplying their nail polish.

Yes, this is how I have been spending my September nights, drooling over the original hot vampire, Angel and wishing I was Buffy kicking vampire asses.

Sad I know but it is still one of my favourite TV shows, a little hint, I'm now on Season 4, Buffy heads to College.

3. CreamPuff

This is a new favourite of mine and I just find it amazing how the product turns matt and leaves a nice nude colour on your lips. It's also really affordable, £2.99, who can complain?

This, however is an oldie but a goodie. All the bloggers have said it and now I am, this is the BEST concealer I have ever used. It's my third tube and I will definitely be buying another. My bags disappear when I apply this as do my red little veins around my nose. So yey, amazing product.

My 13-year-old self would never believe me if I said one day I'd be excited over make-up brushes. But these are amazing, they blend so well and are just a great way to apply your make-up.

I have loved using this perfume, my boyfriend got it for my birthday in April and I'm so sad that it's nearly gone. The fragrance is amazing and I always get compliments on how I smell when I wear it. After all no-one wants to be stinky.

So, that's it, they are my September favourites.

First Impressions - Herbal Essences Dry Shampoo

You know that cheating feeling you get when you buy another product over a one you love and cherish?

Well, that's exactly the feeling I got when I bought the limited edition dry shampoo from Herbal Essenes over Batiste.

However, that feeling slowly disappeared when I began using the product.

First of all, it smells amazing and my hair instantly felt fresher once I used it. Secondly, the product doesn't appear white when you apply it onto your hair.

At first I thought "Eh why is this not working?" Then I realised "Wow it's clear!" I then also realised I had used faaaar too much. Nevertheless, when I used it the second time with less product  I noticed it's so much easier to rub in to give you that feeling of freshly washed hair.

My hair can also appear quite flat and dull during the day, but after spraying this, my hair looked like it instantly had more volume.

And let's face it who can complain about volume?

However, although I'm loving using this, I still can't bare to say goodbye to Batiste, but there may be some room in my bathroom cupboard for the both of them.

Also, on another note Superdrug is selling it for £1.49, so how could I not resist.

Until Wednesday,
